Zhuhai Chinese Orchestra

Since its founding in 2019, the Zhuhai Chinese Orchestra has committed itself to carrying forward andfurther developing exceptional Chinese cultural traditions. The orchestra strives to discover, organise, re-search, and develop traditional music. Its compositions for Chinese orchestra are grounded in Cantonesemusic and southern Chinese cultural traditions, and carry a rich sense of Chinese folk styles mixed witha uniquely Cantonese flavour, which shines through in thematic concerts such as Music Rises From the Bay,Bougainvillea and Golden Lotus, and Dreams Among the Mountains and Sea, which received wide acclaim fromaudiences and the industry. In 2022, the Zhuhai Chinese Orchestra launched its first musical season, whichcontinues today. The orchestra holds cultural exchange events in the Greater Bay region and Belt andRoad nations, focusing on traditional music and helping to establish a culture of the Greater Bay Area andbuild cultural confidence as it strives to become a ‘cultural icon’ of Zhuhai City.
