Currently a huqin virtuoso with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Han Jingna started her training at the age of six, and her teachers included the famous erhu virtuosi Jin Wei, Li Changchun, Lu Rirong, Yu Fenyang and Professor Chen Yaoxing. She entered the middle school affiliated to the Xi’an Conservatory of Music in 1996, and was recommended to continue her studies at the Conservatory proper with exemption from the entrance examination in 2002. She graduated cum laude in 2006, and stayed on as faculty. While still studying, she was a multiple winner of the Class One Prize at the Conservatory’s competitions and scholarships for her work of distinction. She was winner of the Gold Award at the 3rd All China Competition for
Youth Ensemble in Ethnic Musical Instruments of the Wenhua Arts Academy Awards in 2008.
She gave successful solo recitals in 1998 and 2002, as well as her graduation concert in 2006. She participated in the recording of film and television scores as well as for record releases. Han was the Concertmaster of the Xi’an Youth Chinese Orchestra and Assistant Concertmaster of the Xi’an Conservatory Eastern Chinese Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in several countries including Austria, Germany and Singapore. Han was acclaimed for her erhu solo in the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra’s HKCO4U series in 2011. The following year, she received ajik training with the famous ajik player, Adil Abliz. Since then, she has performed the ajik in several of the HKCO concerts.
