Yuen Kin Hei

Yuen Kin Hei is a sheng virtuoso with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. He graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2015 with a major in sheng performance under the tutelage of Cheng Tak-wai, and a minor in dizi under Sun Yongzhi, Principal Dizi with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. He also received coaching in sheng under Zhu Jiaming, Chen Yi-wei, Lu Yunsheng and Weng Zhenfa.

Yuen appeared as guest performer at the ‘Jockey Club Street Music Series – 2016 Opening Ceremony and Community Concert’. He held his graduation recital at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2015. The orchestras he has performed with include the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the Music Office Instructors’ Chinese Orchestra, the Academy Chinese Orchestra, the Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble, and the Hong Kong Juvenile & Youth Chinese Classical Orchestra.
